Aino's primary
interface brings a powerful prompt that can accept a variety of commands giving
easy access to your diary, contacts manager, calculations, task list, personal
information lists and other free form database information as well as your music
collection, the web and email.
If you have voice recognition software, you can speak the
commands rather than type them at Aino's command prompt.
As shown in the example below, if
you have a contact called Jack Smith in Aino, his telephone number can be
retrieved with the English question "What is Jack Smith's telephone number?".
You could just have easily asked for his fax number, mobile number, email
address or hair colour.
Of course, point and click has not been discarded. Any
command that can be typed at the command prompt can be associated with an icon
in Aino. So those repetitive tasks are still just a single click away.
- Encrypted data storage - All of Aino's data is
encrypted to offer a high level of security for your sensitive data.
- Diary - Aino has a calendar/diary including reminders
and scheduled actions. Type a date at the command prompt and your diary will
open to that day.
- Contacts Manager - Aino's contact manager not only
supplies the standard name, address and number fields, but also allows you to
add custom fields particular to your requirements. To access a contact in your
diary, you can just type their name (first name, last name or full name) in
the command prompt and it will locate their record.
- List Manager - Aino comes with a variety of
pre-configured lists for storing personal information. You can easily add
columns to these lists or generate entirely new lists according to your needs.
- Password Manager - Store your passwords in an
encrypted format. The only one you will need to remember is your Aino
password. Accessing passwords and other private lists require a secondary
log-in, to prevent unauthorised access when Aino is left running while you are
away from your desk.
- Calculator - Type your calculation directly at the
command prompt. You can use functions such as sin(), cos() and sqrt() in your
calculations. If you make a mistake, hit F3, correct the equation and hit
enter to recalculate a result. When typing a long equation, such as adding a
list of numbers, it makes it easy to check the numbers you have entered.
- Free Form Database - Aino can create tabbed forms
similar to the contacts manager for your custom data requirements. You design
the number of tabs, their layout and the data they contain.
- Program launcher - Type a program name or
abbreviation at the command prompt to launch a program - this can be much
quicker than searching through menus for icons. For Example "excel" or "xl"
will launch Microsoft Excel, "Control panel" or "cp" will launch the control
panel and "dm" or "Device manager" would open the device manager.
Typing a web address or an email
address at the command prompt will launch your browser or email program
respectively.
-
Music Manager - After Aino catalogues your music collection, you can type
"Play" followed by an artist, track or album to play that selection. Typing
"Play music" or "Play some music" will play your entire collection.
For more information on each of these features, watch the
tutorial that comes with the setup program.
